BHUSD should prepare students not merely to pass the next class, but to succeed at the next stage of their lives. I support rigorous academics, clear grade-level expectations, measurable results, targeted intervention when students struggle, and greater opportunities for students ready to advance.
College preparation should begin well before junior year. BHUSD should help students develop four-year academic plans beginning in ninth grade, strengthen college counseling, prepare students for the admissions requirements of the colleges they may pursue, and expand internships, mentorships, job-shadowing, and career exploration.
The quality of a child’s education should not depend on which classroom assignment he or she happens to receive. BHUSD should recruit and retain exceptional teachers while establishing consistently high academic expectations across classrooms and grade levels.
A great education includes more than academics. BHUSD should strengthen music and arts opportunities, improve after-school enrichment, maintain high standards for athletic programs and coaching, and provide students with meaningful opportunities to discover their talents and interests.
Technology should support learning, not replace good teaching. Especially in TK–8, I support reducing unnecessary screen time and placing greater emphasis on teachers, books, handwriting, discussion, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.
Every student deserves to feel safe at school and while traveling to and from campus. I will support strong campus security, emergency preparedness, and close coordination with law enforcement and City officials as Beverly Hills continues to grow and change.
Taxpayer dollars should be spent carefully, transparently, and with a clear benefit to students. I will scrutinize major expenditures, construction projects, contracts, and administrative spending to ensure BHUSD receives real value for every dollar.
Parents deserve a meaningful voice in their children’s education and clear information about the decisions affecting our schools. I will support greater transparency in curriculum, spending, policies, academic performance, and major Board decisions.
School Board members should ask difficult questions, set measurable goals, and demand results. I will bring independent judgment, transparency, and a consistent focus on students to every decision before the Board.
